Maxine (aka Lost and Foundry Lighting) is a Manchester-born Greek, raised on the Canadian Prairies before returning to England in the 90's.
She has been a set-dresser and prop-maker at places including the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Glyndebourne Opera House, worked in TV, designed jewellery, produced 'zines and travelled with a circus but it was when I started buying and selling vintage that things seemed really to fall into place.
Maxine delighted in the forgotten, the over-looked and the discarded items that are all around us. I had a keen interest in lighting so taught myself the basics before getting further training and becoming a PAT tester. It seemed a natural progression to begin turning these glorious, charming and often peculiar found objects into lights often giving them a new life. I regularly work with stylists and interior designers making custom lights, repair vintage and retro lighting for antique dealers.
