Behind the work:

These wooden pieces are painted on Burma Teak from the passenger boat The new Windsor Castle. It was built in 1923 and salvaged in 2002 because of EU safety regulations.  Sue Munson wanted her work to harmonise with the weathered  teak by bringing it alive again with a contemporary image which transverses time.

"These pieces remind me of seaside, ocean, beach huts, and seaside apartments".

These three works on wood hark back to the artist's days spent in South Carolina and the work she created with Santa Fe artist Carol Anthony.

"I just love the feeling they give of something that has past that was good, and the fact the wood they are painted on carries so many ghosts makes them even more special."
